Rooftop Carpark Expansion Joint Works

Scope of Works: Our team successfully completed the remediation and upgrade of expansion joints at Ashfield Mall’s rooftop carpark for our client, JLL. The project involved the removal of non-compliant steel plate speed humps and the installation of new, high-performance expansion joints to ensure compliance, durability, and enhanced vehicle movement across the carpark.

Key Works Completed:

• Removal of Existing Steel Plate Speed Humps – The existing steel plate humps were identified as non-compliant and were carefully removed to prepare the substrate for the new expansion joint system.

• Surface Preparation – The substrate was thoroughly cleaned, repaired, and levelled to ensure optimal adhesion and installation of the new system

• Installation of Zip Block™ Expansion Joints (Model ZBSM 100-400) – A high-quality, flexible joint system was installed to accommodate thermal expansion and structural movement while providing a long-lasting, trafficable surface.

• Final Sealing and Finishing – The completed joints were sealed and reinforced to ensure maximum performance under traffic loads.

This project improves the longevity and safety of the carpark while meeting compliance standards, enhancing functionality for both vehicles and pedestrians.
