Glass Atrium Remedial Works
Client and Owner: Mirvac
Scope of Works:
Our team successfully completed remedial works on the glass atrium, addressing ageing and damaged sealant to enhance the structural integrity and waterproofing of the atrium. Given the challenging access requirements, our technicians utilised industrial rope access (abseiling) techniques to safely and efficiently carry out the works at height.
Key Works Completed:
-
Removal of Old & Damaged Sealant – Carefully stripped out deteriorated sealant from the atrium’s glass joints to prevent leaks and maintain weather resistance.
-
Surface Preparation & Cleaning – Ensured all surfaces were properly cleaned and primed for optimal adhesion of new sealant.
-
Re-Caulking & Sealing – Applied high-performance, weatherproof sealant to all joints, restoring the integrity of the atrium structure.
-
Abseiling & Rope Access Techniques – Used industrial rope access to perform detailed sealing work in hard-to-reach areas, ensuring safety and precision.
-
Quality Assurance & Testing – Conducted thorough inspections and testing to confirm the effectiveness of the new sealing system.
By incorporating specialist abseiling techniques, we ensured the safe and efficient execution of the project while maintaining the longevity, safety, and weatherproofing of the glass atrium.
